Kendal Big Band had another fine day at Grange Bandstand.

With Michael and Amelia Jay supporting on Rhythm, the band navigated a mixed programme of smooth jazz and pop numbers that delighted a full house of regulars and visitors. Newcomer Rob Duesbury excelled in leading the trombone section and played solos like a seasoned artist after only six months of picking up the instrument! First time Saxophone players Bill Scott and Sue Walley boosted the front row team lead by Jane Robinson (Alto), Janine Fearon (Tenor) and Hilary Beskeen who provided a masterclass Solo in “Wave”.

Band leader, Laura Tattersall, enchanted the audience with her rendition of “Sway” (blending with improvised trumpet solo from Ste Kerfoot) “I know why”, “Blue Moon”, “Cry Me a River” and the sensational “Feeling Good”.

Well done KBB.
